Custom Equipment Built for Real-World Performance
Not every operation fits a standard mold — and neither should your equipment.
At GenTex, our custom projects are designed to meet your unique operational needs while upholding our commitment to reliability, safety, and long-term performance.
Every project begins with a deep understanding of how your equipment will be used in the field. We combine operator-driven design, hands-on fabrication, and rigorous testing to ensure your solution performs exactly as it should — when it matters most.
We Get What You’ve Been Through
Maybe you’ve tried a standard unit before — or bought a truck or heater from a supplier that promised “all-in-one” solutions.
But soon you noticed it couldn’t handle your workflow, controls were confusing, maintenance was complicated, or it just wasn’t built for the conditions your operators face day after day.
Perhaps you’ve attempted retrofits or chassis swaps with another supplier, only to run into unexpected challenges — mismatched components, inefficient layouts, costs overrun, extended delays or deadlines.
We’ve seen it all. And we know the frustration of equipment that almost works, but never truly delivers.
A Custom Project from GenTex is different
We consult with you first, then design, fabricate, and integrate systems that match your workflow and operational needs — whether that means a custom hot oil or pressure unit, a chassis swap, a retrofit, or a completely outside-the-box build.
Every decision is made with your safety, efficiency, and reliability in mind.
In most cases, what we quote is what you pay. The price you sign off during the unit contract on new unit builds can be exactly the price at the end of the project assuming no change orders were made by the customer during the build. Change orders are customer driven, and we ensure the process is clear and approved before adding to the final price of your unit at the end.
OUR APPROACH
The GenTex Advantage
At GenTex, every project follows the same principle: equipment should work for your operation, not the other way around. Whether it’s a custom build, chassis swap, retrofit, or standard unit, we combine decades of hands-on experience with a consultative, customer-driven approach to ensure your solution performs reliably under real-world conditions.
Operator-Driven Design
Built around real-world use and field experience — not assumptions.
Purpose-Built Longevity
Engineered to perform under demanding conditions, year after year.
Tested & Inspected
Every unit is thoroughly tested and inspected before it leaves our shop.
Integrated Systems & Controls
Hydraulic, electrical, and data acquisition systems are thoughtfully integrated for safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
Ongoing Support
Our team stays involved long after delivery to support performance, service, and reliability.
No matter the type of project, our methodology ensures you get equipment tailored to your needs — safe, reliable, efficient, and backed by the GenTex Advantage.
Every custom project we deliver is built for your operation
No two projects are the same. While the specifics depend on your needs, here’s what a GenTex project can include:
We start by listening — learning your ideas, must-haves, and nice-to-haves, while assessing how your equipment will be used in the field, site conditions, and operational goals to design a solution that fits your exact needs before design begins.
1. Custom Design & Project Scoping
Extend the life of existing assets or upgrade functionality. We professionally swap chassis, retrofit components, or upgrade systems while ensuring durability and reliability.
2. Chassis Swaps & Retrofits
From hot oil and pressure units to chemical cleaning units and tanks, we fabricate equipment to meet the unique requirements of your operation — including “outside-the-box” builds that don’t fit conventional molds.
3. Custom Builds & Specialized Equipment
Hydraulic, electrical, and data acquisition systems are designed and integrated for safe, efficient, and streamlined operation.
4. Integrated Systems & Controls
Each unit is thoroughly tested and inspected before delivery, ensuring it meets GenTex’s high standards and performs reliably in the field.
5. Testing & Inspection
We provide ongoing guidance, maintenance, and retrofit solutions — ensuring your equipment continues to operate safely and efficiently for years to come.
6. Ongoing Support & Service
This is where we design and build something completely different like a 7 ft hockey puck, a boardroom table, firepit, a trailer BBQ, etc.
7. Outside the Box
Whether it’s a chassis swap, retrofit, custom build, or a fully outside the box request, everything we create is purpose-built for your custom needs.

-
The price at the time a unit contract is signed is the true cost of the build, unless there are customer driven change orders during the build process that are approved & documented as they arise.
-
GenTex takes pride in delivery date commitments and we do everything in our power to meet those delivery dates. During the quoting phase, whether its Service or Manufacturing they are estimated delivery dates, once approved the dates are narrowed down. One misconception that is important to communicate when managing expectations is making sure the “estimated timeline” and the customer's expectations include possible delays during the quoting phase, meaning if 8 weeks was the timeline during the quoting phase, it remains 8 weeks from the date of approval. The timelines only begin once the approval is provided.
-
Depends on what you want… A good friend once said ”Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?”
-
Direct answer, no, however we stock multiple SA’s, tank material and many other major components that can drastically reduce your build time.
-
No, we do not. GenTex has done field install CDC’s and equipment troubleshooting along with minor field repairs if the customer is down & out. Generally all work is done at our xxxx Sq foot shop in Red Deer County.
-
Yes, we are authorized to build a wide range of Transport Canada certified tanks. Reach out to GenTex for more information.
