Current Careers at GenTex

We are looking for a 3rd Year or Journeyperson Welder to join our innovative Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Use GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and TIG welding processes to fabricate, fit, and assemble components for custom fabrications

  •  Read and understand manufacturing drawings

  •  Safely operate manual or semi-manual welding equipment to fuse metal pieces

  •  Ensure welds meet specifications and meet or exceed quality standards

  •  JMs – lead, coach, and mentor apprentices by example!

  •  Continually learn and grow

  •  Other duties as assigned

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  •  Strength and stamina; with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks

  •  Safety attitude! Able to safely operate a variety of tools, equipment, and machinery

  •  Excellent time management and organizational skills

  •  Excellent communication skills

  •  Critical thinker; plan, prioritize, troubleshoot, and execute

  •  Team Player; establish and maintain successful working relationships

  •  Excited to learn!

Technical and Safety Qualifications:

  •  Registered 3rd year Apprentice or Journeyperson Welder

  •  Minimum 2 to 3 years experience

  •  Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  •  Aluminum welding experience an asset

  •  Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset

  •  Overhead Crane experience an asset

  •  Confined Space training an asset

  •  Forklift certification an asset
