GenTex Industries Inc. specializes in the manufacturing, supply and service of truck, trailer and skid mounted oilfield equipment for the international and domestic markets.At GenTex, our core values are Honesty, Excellence, Accountability and Teamwork. Who Works Here

GenTex employs a wide range of employees, including Journeyperson and Apprentice Welders, Heavy Equipment Technicians and Millwrights, as well as Partsmen, Labourers and various Administrative staff. We also have Engineering, Design and Drafting team devoted exclusively to our specialized equipment. Our Shop Staff operate on a Compressed Work Week schedule; a Compressed Work Week provides the benefit of an extra day off by allowing employees to work their usual number of hours in fewer days per pay period. At GenTex, this means our Shop Staff have every second Friday off!

We are currently seeking a full-time Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our GenTex team.

The Journeyman HET services and repairs equipment.

Qualifications

Abilities and Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of the Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) trade including; 12v electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and fuel systems.
  • Good physical condition, with the strength and stamina required to work with materials, tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and to work in cramped or awkward positions.
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of tools, equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and blueprints and to comprehend and trouble-shoot mechanical systems.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with ability to learn and retain new knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to think outside the box, with innovative solutions and ideas.
  • Team player, with ability to work on own.
  • Positive-minded and keen to apply the company core values to all aspects of work, and interactions with others.

 

At GenTex our normal work schedule is Mon – Fri 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. but hours may vary.
